Samsung Galaxy a55 5G so without further Ado let’s get started so this is the Samsung Galaxy a55 5G now this phone was recently launched in March of 2024 and as the name of the phone does imply it is the successor to last Galaxy a54 now that phone and this phone do share a lot in common but there are also quite a few improvements with this new generation.

I will be comparing those two devices in a separate video so definitely make sure to check that out after watching this one now one of the signature new features here this time around the Galaxy a55 5G definitely has to be this metal frame.

it is made completely of metal and we do have glass in the back of the phone in addition to the display itself but this is definitely the most premium device in the specific series of the a series so I’m really excited to see that

Samsung continues to make their a series phones more and more premium while still offering a lot of value here now before we get too far into things here with the Galaxy a55 5G let’s see what all comes included in the box so here is the box you can see right there

Galaxy a55 there’s a photo of the phone up front and in addition to this color which is called awesome ice blue the phone is available in other colors as well and definitely take a look at the link in the video description to see all the various options that are out there but as you probably noticed this is a slim box and what that also means is there is no USB wall adapter included in fact all we get in the Box itself in addition to the phone itself is this packet here and then in the packet

we do have a SIM card removal tool and then also in addition to that we have some literature here let’s get all that literature out so we have some literature for the phone and then we also a double-sided USBC cable for charging and data transfer now in 2024 it’s definitely normal not to get a USB wall adapter included but keep in mind that if you want to charge the phone at up to 25 WTS which is the maximum charging speed you are going to have to use a USB wall adapter that is compatible with that so for example if you use the old 10 wat USB wall adapter that maybe came with a smartphone that you bought 5 years ago or something like that then you’re not going to be getting those full charging speeds here now with the

Samsung Galaxy a55 5G we’re getting a very large 6.6 in display now in addition to that this display is Super AMOLED and it does feature a 120 Herz refresh rate so a really fast and smooth refresh rate here with the device of course with it also being Super AMOLED we’re getting excellent colors here as well as really good viewing angles too I’m definitely a fan of Samsung deciding to go this route versus giving the phone an LCD display for example and then in addition to that the display is 1080p we’re getting a PPI of 390 so that is very good we’re also getting a 19 1.2 by aspect ratio so a more narrow but taller form factor here with the device and then finally we are getting an 85 5.8% screen to body ratio so pretty small bezels all throughout

I also appreciate as well is that when you’re looking at this phone face on it does pretty much appear that all of the bezels are symmetrical so it’s not like one of the bezels is bigger than another which gives this phone an even more premium look to it then up top here on

the Galaxy a55 we do have a hole punch there and in that hole punch is a 32 megapixel from facing camera now unfortunately there is no wireless charging with the Galaxy a55 5G but that is to be expected because wireless charging is not a feature that typically comes with a series devices now internally with the Galaxy a55 5G we’re getting 128 GB of storage along with micro SD card expansion so it is cool to see there is an option for micro SD card expansion especially considering that with different devices from

Samsung such as all the various S Series phones there is no SD card expansion and then with this device we are getting Face Unlock via the front-facing camera and then we’re also getting an indisplay fingerprint sensor so as you can see it’s really fast and smooth let’s try that one more time and there

we go it’s really fast let’s try that again so you can see with the screen completely off the fingerprint sensor is still really responsive now taking a look at the back of the device we are getting a triple camera setup so there’s a 50 megapixel main camera a 12 megapixel Ultra wideangle camera can capture images at up to 123° and then finally we are getting a 5 megapix macro camera for close-up images so I do appreciate that even though the

Galaxy a55 5G is meant to be a m range smartphone we’re still getting a bunch of different camera options here with the device and as far as video recording goes this phone does support 4K video recording with both the rear and front cameras now here’s how things look in the camera app on the Samsung Galaxy a55 5G this is the main rear camera right now and if you’ve used any Samsung device in the last four or 5 years especially then this should all look very familiar to you but we can go from here to 1x 2.5 to access that Ultra wide camera and then with that switch we can fit a lot more content into a single frame here so it’s definitely a very useful feature especially when it does come in handy the most now going over to the more tab we can access the macro camera right there under macro and then with that we can get very close up and have things be in really good detail so certainly a nice feature to have as well then flipping around to the front facing camera there’s me right there we can take standard selfies we can also crop out a little bit for a group selfie and then going over to portrait mode you can also capture portrait selfies here so you can get those nice blurred out backgrounds they know that everybody’s a big fan of now definitely stay tuned for my full review video of the Galaxy a55 5G to see variety of different photo and video samples from all the various cameras here on the device another thing I want to mention as well is that here in the camera app you’ll see by default it does say 12m what that means is the phone is going to capture images in 12 megapixels instead of the full 50 megapixels so if you do want to switch over to that just go up here and then tap there and you can see it switches over to 50 megapixels and then in return for that things are going to be in a lot more detail but then in exchange for it being in more detail these images will take up quite a bit more space on your device so it really depends on what’s the most worth it to you for me personally there’s sometimes where I will capture photos in the full megapixel count no matter what phone I’m using but then also on that device maybe I’m taking photos more for fun and it’s not as serious then I will switch over to the regular lower option which in this case is 12 megapixels now internally here with the Galaxy a55 5G we’re getting 8 GB of RAM paired up with the Samsung exos 1480 processor now that combination definitely gives us a nice experience here don’t expect to get the types of speeds that you’d find with a higher-end device such as the Galaxy s24 Ultra for example but with a phone like this you’ll definitely be able to do the majority of tasks that anybody would want to do on a smartphone so if you want to use this phone for social media it’s plenty fast for that same thing with watching video content sending emails replying to textt messages all of that is totally fine here on the device you can see that when I’m navigating around the interface it’s also not laggy at all everything is super smooth so again you’re getting a lot of value here with this device and even though it is a bit cheaper compared to an S Series phone from Samsung you’re still getting excellent performance here with the phone now I did run a benchmark test on the phone here using geekbench 6 and here are the scores that I got from that test so I got a single core score of 1 60 and a multi-core score of 3453 now what I recommend doing is running this test on your current phone and then compare your scores to these scores to get a better idea of how the Galaxy a55 5G compares to what you currently have right now because if this phone is slower than your current smartphone then it certainly wouldn’t be an upgrade by any means now with this device we’re getting a very large 5,000 Mah internal battery and along with that definitely expect to get very good battery life here with the Galaxy a55 5G now what’s great is that in addition to having a very large battery this pH also can recharge very quickly as well which typically isn’t something that you would find quite as much with an a Ser smartphone from Samsung but this phone does support up to 25 wat fast charging and as I mentioned earlier on in the video you definitely will want to make sure you’re using a fast charger that is actually compatible with that but once you get that charger and it’s paired up with this device you’re going to have no problem quickly recharging the phone and getting back up to 100% so you can continue on with your day now with the Galaxy a55 5G we are getting NFC which is excellent if you like to use your phone for Tap and Pay we’re also getting IP67 dust and water resistance which means this phone can go underwater for up to 1 M for up to 30 minutes with no issues at all and then another awesome thing too is that we are getting stereo speakers with the Galaxy a55 so when you’re watching video content or listening to music not only are you going to be getting sound out of the main speaker in the bottom of the phone but also out of the top as well now taking a closer look at the hardware of this device as I mentioned it does feel very premium with these nice premium materials but taking a look at the front panel I already talked quite a bit here about the 6.6 in super Amed display I also like too that we are getting very small bezels all throughout the device on the left side of the phone we have nothing here then on the right side of the phone we have volume up volume down and the power button then up top here we have the noise cancelling microphone and also the slot for the micro SD card and SIM card and then on the bottom of the phone we’re getting the microphone USBC port for charging and data transfer and then we’re also getting the speaker and then on the back of the phone we have this nice glass back to it it does pick up some fingerprints but I do appreciate that it is pretty premium here with it being made of glass we’re also getting that triple camera set up and then finally The Flash along with the Samsung logo on the back here but in conclusion I’m really liking the Samsung Galaxy a55 5G this phone definitely seems like a great mid-range option especially for people who want almost a flagship experience but without paying that full Flagship price tag but most importantly I’m really curious to know what you think about the Samsung Galaxy a55 5G
